Soapbox Science Dublin

Public Outreach by Annie

CDT ACM cohort 6 student, Annie Regan, will be speaking at  on July 11th 2020 as part of their first ever online event. Soapbox Science is a novel public outreach platform that promotes women in science, and the science they do. It typically transforms public places in different cities around the world to arenas for science communication; a space for passers-by to meet a scientist, potentially for the first time, and learn about some of the science that happens in research labs. However, due to restrictions on large gatherings during the COVID-19 outbreak, this year’s Dublin-based event will be hosted online on July 11th. Annie, one of 12 speakers at the event, will be giving a talk on her PhD research at Trinity College Dublin entitled “Materials Science: From Tea Towels to Nanomagnets”.
